Arriving 1 day before we meet up with Adventures by Disney

We flew from Seattle the evening before with a short layover in Amsterdam arriving in Porto at 3:35 PM. We decided to upgrade to Delta One so, we could get laydown seats and try to get some sleep. It was a newer plane, and the leg room felt a little tight especially when sleeping and trying to turn from one side to the other but, overall, it was comfortable. In Seattle Delta has a new Delta One lounge which, could spoil a person. There is a restaurant and majority of the food and drinks, non-alcohol and with alcohol are included, and the food was delicious. Just don't want to eat too much because they fed us a lot on the plane also. I couldn't finish my entree but, I did save room for dessert.

After we got our luggage, we met the driver that Adventures by Disney hired. She helped us with our luggage and escorted us to her vehicle where she drove us to our hotel, the InterContinental Hotel. It was nice to have someone pick you up at the airport and not have to worry about getting a taxi or a shared ride driver.

The InterContinental Hotel was located in the historical area of town. Nearby the Sao Bento Railway station, home to a stunning display of iconic blue and white ceramic tiles portraying life in Porto, Portugal's history of transportation. The hotel room was nice, only issue was that it overlooked the front of the hotel and was somewhat noisy with pedestrians on the sidewalk below and the traffic.

Tomorrow, we meet are Adventures by Disney guides and fellow travelers.

Day 1 - Porto

The hotel offers a breakfast buffet in the morning in their restaurant, which is located off the reception area. After we ate, we located a coffee shop a few blocks away that had really good coffee.
