Today we traveled to the Algarves which was about 3 hours from Lisbon and again we stopped 1/2 way at a gas station/rest area for bathroom break and snacks. Before Algarves we stopped and learned the art of making cheese at a working farm, and then we went to a tile making shop and learned how they make tiles and then we picked a template or went free hand and painted our own tile, which we received the finished product at our farewell dinner. For lunch we ate at Jose Maria da Fonseca Winery, in a charming village of Azeitao, for a Portugeses pub fare lunch. After lunch we boarded the bus and drove to the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort. The rooms were really nice, and our room had a large balcony with a view of the ocean. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and we had to ask for a mattress topper. That night for dinner we ate at the restaurant at the hotel. The dinner we ate at separate tables instead of as a group. We were given fixed limit to spend anything over was out of our pocket. You could pick from the chefs tasting menu or a la carte. We choose the chefs tasting menu but, a lot of the others choose a la carte.
